TETRA   BROMOBISPHENOL   A   (TBBA)

UPS has recently finished the engineering and construction of a TBBA plant in Ramat Hovav, Israel. The plant is a joint venture between Bromine Compounds Ltd. (Israel) and Great-Lakes Co. (USA) - which preferred this partnership with BCL and the use of BCL process know-how, although having a similar product itself.

The plant will be producing 25,000 TPA Tetra-Bromo Bisphenol A, to be used as flame retardent additives in the industry.

The plant is typical to the bromine compounds based organic industry. The engineering and equipment reflects many years of experience and knowledge accumulated by BCL & UPS.

A unique Bruechbel ecology system that absorbs and neutralizes the solvents in the process, is implemented in this plant. The emission to the atmosphere will be according to the strict  T.A. Luft standards.

UPS was selected to carry the project due to its abilities and experience in this specific organic industry. UPS was the engineering, procurement, construction and management (EPCM) contractor for this $22 MM project.

The project was commissioned within budget and in record time  - 15 months from grassroots to running in.

Following the success of this project, the joint venture partners decided to increase the plant’s production and awarded UPS with this contract as well.
