Construction Management
Construction management not only relates to the actual overseeing of a facility by on-site supervisory personnel and labor, but also includes ongoing input on matters related to construction in the development and design phases of the project. At UPS, we believe that a construction presence should be established at an early stage, so that designers and planners are alerted to the construction requirements to be met, if plant erection is to proceed efficiently.
The construction team consists of area and/or discipline superintendent reporting, and varies in number, depending on the size of the project.
On-site materials control is the responsibility of the site stores. Site security and safety are the integral responsibility of the construction team.
The main objective of a construction team is to manage the efforts of contractors and subcontractors according to clearly defined procedures and in accordance with the requirements of the client.
UPS provides a commissioning service which may range from commissioning management to client or process vendor assistance. Operator training is also available. The preparation of maintenance, spares and operating manuals is offered as means of improving plant performance and availability. UPS has established a solid base of experience in the field of construction management.
