Project Management
Over the years, UPS has acquired a wealth of experience in the management of projects spread over a broad spectrum of Israeli industry. These range from the largest undertakings to smaller projects in specialized fields.
Irrespective of size, we believe that the successful completion of a project depends entirely on our own efforts and those of our suppliers and contractors, consolidated by an efficient management.
The Project Manager is appointed to lead each project team ( task force ) of design and management specialists. He is responsible for the full commercial and administrative control of the project. The Project Manager provides the main link between the client and the UPS organization, as well as between the project and associated external organization, such as consultants, subcontractors and suppliers. The team is selected from UPS’s engineering departments, and comprises skilled engineers, buyers, planners, etc. Each of these is charged with a personal responsibility for the appropriate area of work on the project. This task force approach is advantageous and results in better coordination of and greater commitment from the individuals concerned. This approach allows a great deal of flexibility, including the participation of consultants, architects, and other external resources who can be effectively integrated into the Project Team.
The Task Force Concept
Prior to project commencement, manpower requirements are assessed. On this basis, a task force is selected, consisting of engineers, designers, project service staff and construction personnel. Each individual is responsible to the project organization for the attainment of project objectives, and answerable to his group leader for quality and the achievement of economically and technically correct solution.
